CHICAGO (06/07/23) — The Community Freedom Party (CFP), a political party dedicated to serving and protecting the African-American community through the political process, announced today the establishment of its Chicago Executive Board of Directors, which is responsible for helping to plan, organize, and direct the party’s operations in Chicago.

The announcement marks the culmination of an over two-month process, during which selections were made and invitations sent based on character, values, and prior work and/or volunteer efforts in the city of Chicago.

“The party’s primary focus was choosing people for the board who demonstrated, through their prior work experience or volunteer pursuits, possessing CFP’s values of love of the black community, empathy and concern for all people, honesty and integrity, humility, intellectual curiosity, and a team-player mindset,” noted Branden Kelly, a Community Freedom Party board member who was involved in the selection process. “Job title, educational attainment, how much influence or financial resources a person has, we don’t believe those are the types of primary considerations that will best serve the party or, most importantly, the interests of the black community.”

In addition to establishing its Chicago Executive Board of Directors, the party also announced the establishment of its Chicago Council of Advisors, whose members will attend meetings of the board of directors and provide advice, feedback and recommendations regarding its activities.

The Community Freedom Party Chicago Executive Board of Directors shall include Kirby Birgans, Corey Dooley, Sonya Dorsey, Daliah Goree, Branden Kelly, Howard Ray, Aya Robinson, Laron Taylor, and Heather Wills.

The Community Freedom Party Chicago Council of Advisors shall include Karlyn Boens, Dr. Angelique Orr, and Jeremiah Pickett, III.
